The curriculum and the syllabus are based on credits. One ECTS credit at Northern Lithuania College is equivalent to 60 hours of class and individual work or one working week.
ECTS credits, which are numerical values allocated to course units to describe the student workload required to complete them. They reflect the quantity of work each course unit requires in relation to the total quantity of work necessary to complete a full year of academic study at the institution.

A study module comprises various forms of teaching and learning: lectures, seminars, practical classes, students individual work, scientific research work, training practice, study visit, other study forms and combinations of all the mentioned study forms - and examinations or other assessment activities. ECTS is thus based on a full student workload and not limited to contact hours only. In ECTS, 60 credits represent the workload of an academic year of study and normally 30 credits for a semester and 20 credits for a term.

Completed study programmes lead to a vocational Bachelor degree and their volume is no less than 120 credits of Lithuania education system credits which corresponds to 3 years of full-time studies (180 ECTS).
