Student life is an integral part of Northern Lithuania College education because it offers students opportunities for teamwork and social interaction as well as the development of leadership and communication skills.
The Student Representation strives to make the time students spend at Northern Lithuania College meaningful and exciting. Student influence, evaluation and quality control are top priorities of the Student Union. It is a very active body. They are members of the Collegiate Body of our College and represent students' concerns in relevance to social conditions, scholarship funds management, granting financial aid to students in need. They hold information on the latest theatre performances, exhibitions and other events. The Student Representation arranges and organizes trips to places worth-seeing, cooperates in organizing educational and job fairs.
New students may have difficulties adjusting: some may face loneliness or relationship problems, others may face uncertainty about choices or anxiety before exams. The Student Representation provides support and informed advice, helping students to develop independence, discover their own resources and find their way through their difficulties.

What is the Student Representation System?

The Student Representation System creates a forum for students to express their opinion on those issues which directly impact on their learning experience and to influence change. Students, students as representatives and staff all ahve a part to play in this to make it successful.

How does it work?

The students on a course elect one person to be their representative. Students should then make that person aware of any issue or problems that may arise. The Student Representative is responsible for gathering student opinion, attending meetings with tutors and support staff to try to negotiate a positive experience for everyone. There is a range of support available for Student Representatives.
