8-12 December, 2007 the Head of IT Department Saulius Ceplinskas went to Instituto Politecnico do Porto (Portugal) to give lectures in English on the contemporary technologies of making presentations. The visit not only provided the lecturer with the opportunity for his professional and personal development but also consolidated the links between Northern Lithuania College & Instituto Politecnico do Porto and promoted the exchange of experience on pedagogical methods.
In March, 2008 three Northern Lithuania College students also will go to Portugal for exchange studies within Erasmus framework (a period of 5 month).
Teaching staff mobility exchanges are very important to the College because they stengthen European cooperation within higher education and develop the quality of studies and transparency of qualifications as well as promote international teaching staff mobility. At present, Northern Lithuania College has bilateral agreements with the universities in eight European countries.
On 20 July Miguel da Torre Lordelo successfully defended his thesis, entitled ‘Ncap System - The Network Traffic Capture Solution'.
Miguel da Torre Lordelo from Portugal arrived at Northern Lithuania College last February according to the European Erasmus Programme which promotes student and staff mobility throughout Europe.

Northern Lithuania College administration went on a day canoe trip - expedition „Jura - 2007". Erasmus student Miguel da Torre Lordelo from Portugal joined the group and experienced a great sense of accomplishment and freedom.
The trip from Kvedarna to Pajuris (20km) allowed the staff to observe the beauty of the nature by letting the current gently pull them down the river Jura through the forests including the short stops to rest and have a snack. The expedition finished with the rice pilaf making process.
This active outdoor activity definitely provided all its participants a vacation filled with capturing and long lasting memories!

On 25th May Northern Lithuania College project coordinator Jurgita Skirmantaite and student Miguel da Torre Lordelo from Instituto Politecnico Do Porto (Portugal) participated in a national event for all Erasmus students, buddies, representatives of universities and colleges that was held in Klaipeda.
The event aimed to strengthen cooperation among the foreign students in LT, promoting their common ideas and cultural exchange as well as positive image of Lithuania.
The guests gathered at club Global where they exchanged their experiences of the active and pleasing time in Lithuania, shook hips to Latin music rhythms.
Erasmus programme is open to all types of higher education institutions and cover all disciplines and study levels. Its main objectives are: to promote student and teacher staff mobility, to improve the quality of studies and to develop common recognition system for study programs in whole Europe.

23-24 April, 2007
On 23-24th April Proffesor Marisa Roris Ferreira from Instituto Politecniko Do Porto (Portugal) visited Northern Lithuania College where she gave lectures in Advertising and Promotion. The lectures were higly praised by the students. This visit was made possible thanks to the European Erasmus Programme which promotes student and staff mobility throughout Europe.
The cooperation between Instituto Politecniko Do Porto and Northern Lithuania College is still at the beginning but the initial results have been very positive. In February student Miguel da Torre Lordelo arrived at the college and has been working on his Bachelor Paper „Network Intrusion Detection Management systems" in Computer Science Engineering. According to him, he is content with the way the studies are arranged, satisfied with the flexibility of the timetable, positive about cooperation with his Bachelor Paper‘s advisor Saulius Ceplinskas and the rest teaching staff.
Future planned cooperation includes an exchange of six students from Northern Lithuania College which will be financed by the Erasmus branch of European Funding.
This will take place in autumn, 2007. Northern Lithuania College will be also sending a few teachers to give series of lectures in Portugal.
